Congratulations to Craze Lateral Solutions
Congratulations to Craze Lateral Solutions who has successfully tendered to undertake the national consultations to establish a national peak consumer organisations.
Congratulations to Craze Lateral Solutions who has successfully tendered to undertake the national consultations to establish a national peak consumer organisations.
CAN (Mental Health) Inc. looks forward to working with Leanne Craze and her team to ensure consumers' perspectives on the potential model/s of a national mental health consumer peak organisation is heard.
The consumer expert reference group in meeting in Canberra (hosted by the commonwealth Dept. of Health & Ageing) to meet and discuss with Craze Lateral Solutions the best means to move forward on Thursday 16th July 2009.
This group of consumers (who first met in November 2008) has been selected based on their expertise rather than organisational or state representation. This is an especially important distinction for consumers to be fully aware of.
We look forward to reviewing the range of potential models for the successful establishment of a new national mental health consumer peak.

A bit of history:
As you are aware in 2008 the former AMHCN (Australian Mental Health) Consumer Network was closed due to failing to meet its funding obligations.
In November 2008 a meeting was organised by the commonwealth in consultation with some of the former AMHCN Board Members.
The major outcome of the first meeting was the commonwealth would fund a consultant to develop key models for a national organisation and consult with consumers across the country.
Congratulations are to be extended to the commonwealth for being committed to Australian Mental Health Consumers having their own peak body to hear the consumers' voices.
